    Arizona softball will host the NCAA Tournament again, which includes a familiar in-state rival. The Wildcats (45-11) earned the No. 13 national seed and will host the Tucson Regional on Friday.     The FC Tucson men start their Western Conference title defense season with an expanded Cinco de Mayo match. FC Tucson opens its season by hosting Seleccion Tucson XI, an all-star team of local players on Saturday night. Seleccion Tucson's roster includes former FC Tucson stars Edgar Reyna and Donny Toia, who played for four MLS sides. “It will be cool to see them on the field,” FC Tucson head coach Sebastian Pineda said.

    As far as Arizona softball head coach Caitlin Lowe is concerned, the sky’s the limit for sophomore utility Regan Shockey. “She’ll never talk about herself,” Lowe said. “I just don't think she has a ceiling, so I'm always out here and she's always out here trying to get better.     Arizona softball hasn’t intentionally been swinging for the fences but they are racking up home runs. In the night cap of a doubleheader on Tuesday, the No. 13 Wildcats (39-9, 14-7 Big 12) beat New Mexico State 13-0 in 5 innings, hitting six home runs.

    The Tucson Roadrunners return to the playoffs to face a familiar foe. The No. 7 seed Roadrunners (34-32-4-2) face the second-seeded Abbotsford Canucks (44-24-2-2) in a best-of-three series in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs starting Wednesday. The whole series is at Abbotsford, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks.
