Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake has been a thorn in the side of the Whitesboro softball team for the past two years. The defending Class AA state champion Spartans showed their championship mettle with a dominant 10-0 victory over Whitesboro in Sunday’s regional final. It was the second year in a row that the Spartans plated 10 runs against the two-time defending Section III champions. A year ago, the Spartans defeated Whitesboro 10-2 in the same round.
