Borussia Dortmund has sacked Nuri Şahin, as reported by Patrick Berger. The decision comes following four straight defeats to kick start 2025, most recently a 2-1 defeat in the Champions League to Italian side Bologna. The former BVB and Real Madrid player took control of the Dortmund first team in the summer following Edin Terzić stepping down by mutual consent. Şahin had to deal with multiple big player exits that summer, including Marco Reus and Mats Hummels.

Borussia Mönchengladbach would reluctantly sell Tomáš Čvančara this winter amid interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, according to Florian Plettenberg. Internally, the club are happy with Čvančara’s performance and would like to keep him. However, they are aware that the forward has market interest right now and should they receive a top offer, they would sell in January. The 24-year-old himself is also considering a move to Saudi Arabia should a formal offer be made.
