SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. (WAVY) – A Florida beachgoer captured video of a swarm of sand fleas at Satellite Beach. Denise Derrick Wright described the scene as “crazy.”She posted the video on her Facebook page on May 27 and noted that while it’s sand flea season, she’s never seen anything quite like this. “Just want beachgoers to know not to be afraid of them,” Derrick Wright said in her post. “Growing up in Satellite Beach I used to love digging them up! Just so weird seeing them in a colony like that.

The popular jam band is ending its ‘Summer Tour 2025’ with a three-show return to the Hampton Coliseum, from September 19-21. According to reports, Phish refers to the Coliseum as the ‘Mothership’ because of the venue’s unique design and because the band has played many iconic shows there.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – An officer with the Virginia Beach Police Department was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence following an early morning crash over the weekend, VBPD confirmed to WAVY. Officers responded to the 2300 block of Huckleberry Trl. on June 1 at 3:48 a.m. for the report of a crash. After an investigation, officers arrested 42-year-old James Rasmussen. A spokesperson for VBPD confirmed Rasmussen is currently employed with the police department.
