The future of a pre-school in Co Down is at risk due to a funding shortfall with staff saying they are "deflated." Little Stars Pre-School, a cross-community playgroup located at St Mary's Primary School in Killyleagh, has had its funding axed this year. Stormont budget cuts have reduced cash to The Pathway Fund, which Little Stars and many other pre-schools rely on for key funding.

Ciaran Kelly, founder of Pizza Crew, realised a dream he has been chasing for a decade as he was inducted as a member of the group at a special ceremony in Las Vegas. The World Pizza Champions is a US based non-profit, multinational group made up of elite pizza professionals.

Two students from Co Fermanagh have launched a campaign calling for girls to be allowed to wear trousers at school. Astrid Knox and Rhea Flood from Enniskillen said the campaign is rooted in the belief that the right to choose your clothing should reflect equality. With the support of Maddison Blair from the NI Commissioner for Children and Young People’s Youth Panel, the duo is challenging outdated uniform policies and encouraging schools to reconsider their guidelines on dress codes.

Emergency services attended a Belfast airport this evening after a "technical issue" was identified with a landing plane. Police, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at Belfast City Airport on Friday evening, April 18. It followed an emergency declared onboard a landing Emerald Airlines flight. There were no passengers onboard the plane, which was a positioning flight flying from Edinburgh.
