    Another new Kroger Marketplace could be coming to the north side of Lexington. The 127,000-square-foot grocery store has been proposed for 1811 Winchester Road, west of Executive Drive and opposite Frederick Douglass High School, next to the Patchen Wilkes subdivision. It’s unclear what the timeline for opening the new store is yet. The plan by RD Development was filed May 5 and will require a zoning adjustment.

    A Lexington restaurant has been closed temporarily by the health department for multiple violations. According to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, Johnny Carino’s, 2333 Sir Barton Way, was closed May 1 for “multiple leaks from the ceiling in the food preparation area and the walk-in cooler.”The dish machine was not sanitizing, too, among other issues, according to the health department.

    In another blow to the former customers of failed roofing company Lexington Blue, the company announced Thursday that a subcontractor will no longer take over its unfinished work as previously announced. When Lexington Blue, owned by Brad Pagel, announced it was closing on April 26, the company said it had partnered with Skyline GC to take over all outstanding projects.

    A Louisville couple has filed a potential class-action lawsuit against failed roofing company Lexington Blue and its owner, Bradly Pagel Jr.Adam and Yanett Cecil, of Louisville, allege in the April 29 lawsuit filed in Jefferson Circuit Court that in November 2024, they entered into a contract with Lexington Blue to provide roofing services.
