    NORFOLK, Va. — A trial date has been set in Norfolk Circuit Court to determine if Norfolk's Electoral Board Vice Chair Marianne McKay will be removed from her position. Norfolk's Commonwealth Attorney Ramin Fatehi confirmed the date of April 29 after reviewing a petition by the State Board of Elections calling for McKay's removal. This follows a formal request earlier this year by Norfolk's Electoral Board chair, Atoy Carrington, and Registrar Stephanie Iles for McKay's removal.

    RALEIGH, N.C. — The back-and-forth continues in the country's only undecided race from last year's November election. North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs won the election to keep her seat by 734 votes over Republican Appeals Court Judge Jefferson Griffin. But Griffin has sued to throw out 65,000 votes. The state Supreme Court has just halted an appeals court decision favoring Griffin, which said the votes were wrongly included in the tally.
