Twelve years after Aliza Sherman’s fatal stabbing in downtown Cleveland, a grand jury charged her former divorce attorney with her murder. The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office announced charges against 51-year-old Gregory Moore, including aggravated murder, conspiracy, multiple counts of murder, and kidnapping. Sherman, a 53-year-old Cleveland Clinic nurse and mother of four, died March 24, 2013, near Moore’s office, COURT TV reports.

An Arizona judge sentenced a mother who killed her two children with a meat cleaver to life behind bars Friday. Yui Inoue, 44, was sentenced Friday to two consecutive life sentences for the murders. She also received two 20-year sentences to be served consecutively for two additional charges. Paulding County police in Georgia are seeking assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old boy. Josean Smitj has been unaccounted for since Sunday afternoon, according to police. He was last seen around 2:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Harmony Creek Lane, FOX 5 Atlanta reports. Police said he is considered “at risk.”Smith has a scar on his chin and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, black shorts, and red Jordans shoes.

Numerous high school lacrosse players in New York are facing charges following an alleged hazing prank that spiraled out of control. Onondaga County First Chief Assistant District Attorney Joseph Coolican announced on Wednesday that all 11 Westhill High School lacrosse players suspected of hazing a teammate in Syracuse have turned themselves in. CNN reports that the non-juvenile students will face arraignment, while the juveniles will go directly to family court, Coolican said.

Two sexual assault cases were reported concerning 14-year-old Emily Pike, an Arizona indigenous teen who was found dead and dismembered on Valentine’s Day. Shortly after the second report, San Carlos Apache tribal social service workers took custody of Emily. She then spent 18 months in foster care, including time in a Mesa group home, before she ran away in January 2025 and never returned. Her body was found near Globe on February 14, and no suspects have been identified in her murder.
