PAUL - A multi-cultural celebration took place in the halls of St. Paul Regional High School on May 13 as students enjoyed food from a variety of cultures. A long line-up saw students being served hundreds of perogies, butter chicken, and more. The lunch-hour event also included songs performed by students from the school's music program.

ST. PAUL - After being called out to two fires near Highway 881, north of St. Paul on May 20, fire crews were once again called out to a fire at one of the same locations on Wednesday morning. At 5 a.m., on May 21, "the same structure was lit again on fire," confirmed Fire Chief Trevor Kotowich. "The property was checked yesterday with a thermal imaging camera at 3 p.m. to ensure no hot-spots existed.

ST. PAUL - The St. Paul Gymnastics Club had 10 athletes compete in Edmonton over the Mother's Day weekend in the club's first ever out-of-town competition. The competition was hosted by Capital City Gymnastics. While the St. Paul club has held annual meets in town for its own gymnasts to participate in, the organization has never competed with gymnasts from other clubs or other gyms, says Andrea Hall, events coordinator with the gymnastics club.

ST. PAUL - After spending his childhood growing up in St. Paul, Cst. Ashley JD van Leeuwen has been living a life dedicated to helping others. Now working with the RCMP, he recently received the highest award for bravery - the Medal of Valour. He received the medal in recognition of exceptional valour in the face of extreme hazard, and his willingness to take action for the benefit of others, and the risk of placing himself in harm's way.

ELK POINT - Shrek The Musical Jr. hit the stage at the Elk Point Allied Arts Centre for a second weekend on May 3 and 4. The show offered a fun-filled evening on Saturday, with lots of work and effort put into costumes, the on-stage set, lights, music, and all the other details that brought the musical together. Youth with the Elk Point Theatre Project (EPTP) have been practicing their parts for months and were rewarded with sold-out shows on their last day, Sunday.
