GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — As thousands of runners prepare for the Amway Riverbank Run next month, one Kent County woman remembers the fateful race day in 2011 when her husband didn't make it to the finish line. In 2011, Kristi Kinzler became a widow after her husband, Jason, ran in the world’s largest 25K. Jason had been attempting to beat his previous time from the year before and break into the "two-hour club" that Saturday morning. “It was very sudden, very unexpected," Kristi said.

KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A West Michigan nonprofit known for helping those experiencing homelessness is now in need of some help. Be A Ruby's signature pink trailer, which was used to haul food, clothing, and hygiene items to downtown Grand Rapids each week, has been stolen. Founder Harry Rissley said the trailer was taken sometime on April 1 or April 2nd from the nonprofit's office parking lot in Grandville. "This has a great impact on our operations," he said.

The shop is the heart of the Wyoming community, largely thanks to the heart of its owner, Marge Wilson. "She's amazing," said Wilson's sister Marilyn Free. "If somebody needs help, she's going to help them."Wilson is known for donating donuts, or donating space in the business for community groups to meet or hold fundraisers.
