YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A fake viral post about a woman police officer who is supposedly missing and in danger has police in York County issuing a warning for the community. The post that Carroll Township police is warning about states that a “silver alert” was issued, meaning that the officer could be in danger. “We want to advise all residents and visitors that the following social media post is FALSE,” the department said in a statement.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A woman found in a Lancaster County roadway last week was fatally injured after she fell off her skateboard, police said in an update Thursday. Lititz Borough Police said the investigation revealed that Magnolia Wintjen, 43, died after she accidentally fell off her skateboard. According to police, Wintjen was headed down a slope on Laurel Avenue, towards East Fourth Avenue, while she was riding her skateboard. She fell to the ground and was fatally injured.

The York County District Attorney’s Office said a jury found Stephon Brown, 24, of New Freedom, guilty of first-degree murder and person not to possess a firearm.
