He would run at Roy Drachman track for the Tucson Elite Athletic Club, and then he took his talents to Sahuaro High School. "In high school was the first time I saw his talents," added Green, who is a family friend.

TUCSON, Arzona — "Winning is fun," said Empire softball head coach Shannon Woolridge. "What's better than winning, right?"Woolridge's Ravens have done a lot of winning. Their streak is now at 38 straight games. 17 of those wins were en route to last year's state title. And, they are a perfect 21-0 to start this season. "We have a saying, we don't need all the players, we just need the right ones," added Woolridge. That starts with senior Kendall Freidinger.

TUCSON, Arizona — Saturday was Military Appreciation Night at Hi Corbett Field. We've seen paratroopers land perfectly before at University of Arizona football games, but with winds approaching 20 miles an hour, things didn't go as planned at the ballpark. Prior to the first pitch, a paratrooper carrying a University of Arizona flag descends from the sky but makes a hard landing on the outfield grass. Someone rushes to his side as the paratrooper doesn't immediately get up.

TUCSON, Arizona — The Arizona Board of Regents approved a one-year extension of Wildcat basketball head coach Tommy Lloyd through the 2029-30 season. Lloyd's salary of $5,100,000 for this coming season (April 1 - March 31) will jump to $5,850,000 in the 2029-30 season. That number doesn't include his agreement with Nike or Arizona Sports Enterprises, which are each $200,000. Additionally, three of his assistant coaches will each receive three-year contracts.
