BURLINGAME, Calif. (KRON) — August and September are the slowest months on the NBA calendar, but in one Bay Area gym, it’s a time when players gather to hone their craft. An array of ballers from college studs to NBA players were at Unlimited Potential Basketball in Burlingame one afternoon this August to test their skills against each other. “It’s usually just a text,” said Oklahoma City Thunder star Jalen Williams.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The Golden State Warriors welcomed NBA Draft prospects into their facility on Thursday for their first batch of pre-draft workouts — a process that involves the team scrutinizing each young hooper on everything you can imagine. Of course, the Warriors look for the usual telltale signs that these young athletes will become successful NBA players — traits like fast-twitch athleticism, an accurate jumpshot, and sound knowledge of the game.

NAPA, Calif. (KRON) — Each year, the top senior boys and girls high school basketball players from around the United States gather for the McDonald’s All-American game. Legends such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant have played in the contest. This year, three of the 24 boys players in the game hail from the same Bay Area prep school — Prolific Prep in Napa. Those three players and their coach stopped by KRON4’s Sports Night Live to talk about the honor (full interview above).

(KRON) — There have been more than 35,000 Division 1 men’s basketball players who have scored over 1,000 career points, but not a single one of them had a daughter do the same thing at their alma mater — until recently. Walnut Creek natives Ali and Eric Bamberger accomplished that feat at St. Mary’s. They share not just a last name but also a passion for the game of basketball. Ali was introduced to the game of basketball while quite literally being locked in a cage.
