We’re in the dog days of summer, at least as far as the NFL is concerned. It’s hot, and it’s just going to get hotter over the next couple of months, but the league is on summer break. The Cincinnati Bengals have broken minicamp without Trey Hendrickson and first-round pick Shemar Stewart signed and neither participated.

Mark Hoffman/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images The Cincinnati Bengals will be heading into the 2025 season with a very similar defense, as far as personnel is concerned, as they did in 2024. There are only a couple of new faces, but one of them has drawn the attention and praise of the team’s franchise quarterback, Joe Burrow. The Cincinnati Bengals are without either of who most would assume would be their starting defensive ends in 2025. Trey Hendrickson, the league’s reigning sack leader, is holding out for a new contract, and the team’s first-round pick, Shemar Stewart, has yet to sign his rookie contract. The reason Stewart hasn’t signed is reportedly specific language in his contract that wasn’t present in Amarius Mims’, last year’s first-round pick, contrct.
