    LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- Two children were injured, one seriously, after high winds picked up a bounce house into the air in Las Cruces. This is according to the Las Cruces Police Department. It happened this afternoon at the 4500 block of Red Mountain Circle. That's on the east mesa at the intersection of Rinconada and Parkhill. Police say a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old were injured in the incident.

    EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A neighborhood in northeast El Paso is dealing with a junk problem - again. Residents are frustrated with a house that’s had overflowing litter in its yard multiple times. Crews from El Paso Environmental Services, codes, and the El Paso Police department were on full force Wednesday morning at the home, which is located at 10437 Orpheus Drive. Grapple trucks lifted load after load of trash from the yard, something residents have been complaining about for years.

    DOÑA ANA COUNTY, New Mexico (KVIA) -- The owners of property in southern Doña Ana County are looking to re-zone the lot to build a cannabis farm and consumption lounge. Some nearby residents are not happy about it. The land is located at 1224 Gardner Road on the New Mexico-Texas state lines, north of Sunland Park. It’s bordered by Crawford Road to the west, with the Cielo Dorado Estates, and a private airstrip, bordering at the north.

    LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- Las Cruces Public Schools announced Wednesday that installation of weapon detection systems has begun at several middle and high schools across the district. According to LCPS, the systems are designed to "identify potential threats efficiently and unobtrusively."The systems have already been installed at Lynn Community Middle School, Sierra Middle School, Organ Mountain High School, Picacho Middle School and Vista Middle School.

    EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Another earthquake was reported Sunday afternoon in Culberson County, around 49 miles south of Carlsbad, New Mexico. This is according to the U.S. Geological Survey, as well as ready.gov. The quake struck at 3:32 p.m. Mountain Time. Geological event monitoring and tracking website Volcano Discovery reports that it was a "shallow quake" at 4.3 miles deep, and would have been felt strongly closer to the epicenter. No damage has been reported at this time.
