Refreshing humidity greets us for the rest of the day with a great end to the weekend. It's a great day to walk the beach or go for a hike with dewpoints dropping. PORTLAND, Maine — All we have to do is think back to those three big storms, one in December and two in January, to realize winters in Maine are, indeed, changing. Hot and humid air underneath the “heat dome” will surge into the Pine Tree State. It will be quite a shock to the system after such a pleasant Father's Day weekend with very little humidity in the air.

PORTLAND, Maine — "Lakes are vital for people and wildlife. More animals live where land and water meet than any other habitat in Maine," Francesca Gundrum of the Maine Audubon said. There are about 6,000 lakes and ponds in Maine, and some of them are in danger. One threat is in the form of an invasive aquatic species called variable leaf watermilfoil. "The warmer our lakes and ponds are the easier it is for algae and honestly the spread of invasive species.
