A little less than 40% of Parkites see the overall direction of the community as excellent or good, a survey has found, signifying further erosion in one of the key metrics in a wide-ranging questionnaire conducted on behalf of City Hall. The National Community Survey collected responses from late November until early January. The results are based on a sampling of 295 Park City households. Another 404 responses were collected via an online survey. There is a margin of error of 6%.

Turkey day came early in Park City this year. The Park City Police Department received a recent series of reports of turkey sightings, including in high-traffic areas. It is highly unusual for the police to be told of wild turkeys in the community. It was not clear whether the same bird was seen in each of the cases, but the reports were logged in the same general area of Park City. The locations were on or close to the busy Kearns Boulevard corridor.

The Park City Police Department on Sunday evening received several complaints about drivers on Deer Valley Drive, an important road serving Deer Valley. On Sunday, June 1, at 9:56 p.m., the police received a complaint about a driver in a Porsche who was reported to be “drag racing” on Deer Valley Drive for nearly six hours. The person who contacted the police indicated the vehicle was traveling at between 90 mph and 100 mph.

Danny Glasser, a former CEO of the National Ability Center, has started a campaign for the Park City Council, saying progress by the municipal government on a range of issues has slowed. Glasser lives in Park Meadows and has lived in Park City since 2020 after visiting the community for years prior to moving here. He was the National Ability Center CEO for approximately 2 1/2 years before leaving the organization in 2023. He unsuccessfully sought a seat on the Park City Board of Education in 2024.

A Park City resident with a varied background that includes time in television news and as a volunteer with the Park City Education Foundation has begun a campaign for the Park City Council. Molly Miller lives in Prospector and has lived in Park City for 14 years. She is a freelance writer, formerly owned a communications firm, and rose through the ranks in television news in Michigan and Utah. “I’m, obviously, not a politician,” she said.
