Many have heard the saying all great things must come to an end, but that’s now the reality for Brandon Qualls and those at Stumpy’s Hatchet House on Dickinson Avenue in Greenville as they’ll soon be closing their doors.

(WITN) -It was a special day to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday as Wednesday was the third official year of its national commemoration since President Joe Biden declared it a federal holiday back in 2021. The Farmville community surely came out in numbers to celebrate Juneteenth Wednesday afternoon. It may be three years since Juneteenth was signed into law as a federal holiday, but freedom for African Americans came on this day in 1865.

CHOCOWINITY, N.C. (WITN) -Concerns are high in one Eastern Carolina town following the abrupt termination of emergency medical services recently. Many frustrated residents were in attendance for a budget public hearing Tuesday night, to discuss the proposed budget cuts from Chocowinity town commissioners that would eliminate EMS and reduce EMS staff by five positions.
