RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCT) — The North Carolina Senate passed a Bill on Thursday to allow for the permitless carry of a concealed gun in the state. No Democrats voted in favor of Senate Bill 50. This will still allow North Carolinians to get concealed carry permits for reciprocity with other states. The bill also now goes to the House of Representatives for consideration.

SWANSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — One of Swansboro’s public docks is closed until further notice. Town leaders said the Main Street dock needs repairs after a recent inspection found structural issues. They’ve hired Carteret Marine to do an underwater assessment to get the full picture of what needs to be fixed. Once those results come in, they’ll have a timeline of when it can reopen. Town Manager Jonathan Barlow said it’s one of Swansboro’s oldest docks.
