ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Many of us clean out our closets from time to time, but do you ever clean out your medicine cabinet? Not doing so can cause problems for people, especially senior citizens, who may be on multiple medications. “It’s the same way with medicines. Sometimes we can accumulate medicines on top of medicines, but we need to stop, kind of go through it all,” said Dr. Laurie Archbald-Pannone, geriatric physician with the University of Virginia Medical Center.

(WDBJ) - Country music artist Rockie Lynne documents his music and life in a new film “Rockie Lynne: Where I Belong.”Lynne started out life as an orphan in a home for children, was eventually adopted. Years later when filming a documentary about his musical career, he was able to find his biological father. The two quickly realized they had many similarities. Both play country music, served in the same division of the armed forces and ride motorcycles.

ROANOKE Co., Va. (WDBJ) - The Book of Mark is brought to life through music in a new production taking place the first weekend of February at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church in Roanoke County. It’s called The Song of Mark and draws on the Book of Mark from the New Testament of the Bible. “The Gospel of Mark, in particular the Song of Mark, puts a real human face on the character of Jesus,” said Kevin Lewis, with Logos Theatricus, the production group that’s putting on the musical.

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) -The numbers tell a story when it comes to teens and cannabis, students in Virginia are using it. One in 25 Virginia middle school students has tried cannabis at some point in their lives, according to a study conducted by the Virginia Cannabis Control Authority. Thirteen percent of high school students in the state currently use the substance, according to the study. That’s more than one in every ten students.
