The celebrations continued over in Picayune as one local team made history! Two coast teams in George County and St. Martin played in the first ever girls flag football State Championship game.

The softball diamond was the place to be on Saturday as Hancok hosts George County for game two of the South State Championship. The Lady Rebels up one after 3-2 win on Thursday. Much like game one, this was a pitchers duel. Hancock ace Teegan Dewitt and George County Junior Addison Davis were going toe to toe on the mound, striking out batters and producing shutout innings with the help of their strong defense. This wouldn't change until the top of the fourth inning.
Vancleave softball forces South State game three after a thrilling nine inning victory!

Vancleave High School hosting East Central for game two of the Class 5A South State series. Both the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Hornets with stellar pitching performances. The hits were rare and scattered all throughout the game, and it would remain scoreless for seven innings. East Central struck first in the 8th with one run and Vancleave matched it in the bottom half of the inning.

Bulldog basketball player Gabe Collier signed his letter of intent with Southeastern Baptist College! Collier started every game for CCA, averaging 14.1 points and five rebounds per game. The Gulf Coast softball showdowns continue as East Central hosts Vancleave for game one of the 5A South State Championship. The Lady Hornets busted out of the gate quickly with three runs in the third, one in the second, followed by six in the 5th. That would be all East Central needed after five complete innings! The Lady Hornets win game one in dominating fashion, defeating the Bulldogs 10-0. Game two of this matchup will take place Friday night at 7 at MGCCC!

It's a Gulf Coast Showdown as George County hosts Hancock at MGCCC for game one of the 6A South State Championship!Both Lady Rebel ace Peyton Collin and Lady Hawk ace Teegan Dewitt were on fire at the mound, combining for 9 total strikeouts in the first four innings. The rubber match was a shutout until the top of the fourth inning.
