The inaugural Carolina Hills Classic, a four-day-long, 250-mile cycling tour held June 12-15, has raised over $187,000. More than 30 riders participated in the event, which kicked off June 12 at Camperdown Plaza in downtown Greenville, continued into the Blue Ridge Mountains and ended June 15 at Southernside Brewing Co. in Greenville.

Metropolitan Arts Council announced 10 artists were chosen as winners in its Flat Out Under Pressure art-making event June 14. Kicking off June 13, 130 local visual artists submitted works created during the 24-hour event for an opportunity to have their submissions featured on one of eight recycling bins on Main Street in downtown Greenville, as well as a chance to win between $300 and $1,000 in cash prizes.
