The Denver Pioneers have two teammates vying for the top honor in college hockey. DU forward Jack Devine and defenseman Zeev Buium were among the top 10 Hobey Baker Award finalists named Wednesday. The final three Hobey Hat Trick finalists will be announced April 3, with the Hobey Baker Award winner revealed on April 11 at the NCAA Frozen Four. Devine leads the country with 41 assists and 54 points while playing 39 games for the Pios.

CALGARY, Alberta — Parker Kelly scored twice and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Calgary Flames 4-2 on Friday night. Ryan Lindgren and Valeri Nichushkin also scored for Colorado, which has points in eight straight (7-0-1). The Avalanche moved within three points of the Dallas Stars for second place in the Central Division. Scott Wedgewood had 22 saves. Blake Coleman and Jonathan Huberdeau scored for Calgary, which lost in regulation for the first time in six games (2-1-3).

FRISCO, Texas — Newly acquired Dallas Stars forward Mikko Rantanen say he’s pleased with where he landed while denying his former coach’s claim that he gave Carolina a list of teams he preferred in a trade, and the Hurricanes weren’t on it. Rantanen addressed reporters after his first practice with the Stars on Wednesday. He played two games in Canada on a four-game road trip interrupted at the halfway point by a four-day break.
