YORKTOWN, NY — The Yorktown Police Department says that a 27-year-old Brooklyn resident was arrested for grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after a suspicious incident. On Friday, around 1:13 p.m., Yorktown police began an investigation into a possible larceny after a victim was told to withdraw $30,000.00 in cash for a "fraudulent purpose" and hand it off to the Brooklyn resident, police said.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — There's a new taco project in town, and the celebration will extend across the trip-state region. The Taco Project, a Mexican-inspired restaurant, will be celebrating the grand opening of its sixth location, at 596 North Ave, in the new Illustrator building, in New Rochelle. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Tuesday, at 10:45 a.m., followed by the Grand Opening celebration at 11 a.m. The owners say there will be plenty of prizes and giveaways during the celebration.

TOWN OF PUTNAM VALLEY, NY —Two people were arrested in unrelated cases of stealing money from elderly victims through deception, involving a shoebox, Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville says. On March 31, a 79-year-old Town of Putnam Valley resident told a deputy that they had given over $25,000 to unknown suspects. The victim said they first received a text message from someone claiming to be from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
