No. 1 Xavier was upset by Pella, 5-4, in last season's Class 1A girls’ team tennis final. The two teams met once again on Monday afternoon for the title at Caldwell Park. Jim Potts and his wife Stephanie were a part of Tom Lilly's girls’ basketball coaching staff at Cedar Rapids Xavier. Stephanie was Lilly's longtime assistant and Jim also spent some time on the staff. Both were on the sidelines when the Saints won their sixth state championship in March in Lilly's final game, a 66-47 win over North Polk. Now Jim Potts has a chance for the same storybook finish.
