HERRIMAN, Utah — A 41-year-old Herriman man was allegedly in contact with a teenage South Jordan girl before she disappeared last month, according to a search warrant served this week. Fifteen-year-old Alisa Petrov was last seen by her family on the morning of April 21 when she left her American Fork school. She was seen later that day at a UTA train station in Provo where she asked for help getting to Las Vegas.

PAYSON, Utah — One person was killed following an accident on Interstate 15 in Payson on Tuesday afternoon. Watch LIVE below as I-15 in Payson is at a standstill following a fatal accident:Nearly all southbound lanes of I-15 are currently closed due to the accident that occurred near 8000 South. Northbound lanes in the area are also backed up. It's not known what caused the accident or how many other vehicles were involved.

SALT LAKE CITY — Body camera video released Tuesday by the Salt Lake City Police Department shows what led to one of its officers firing at a suspect who fled from a traffic stop earlier this month. The video shows the May 12 confrontation between police and 18-year-old Carlos Felipe Ocampo-Flores. An officer originally attempted a traffic stop on Ocampo-Flores on 600 West near South Temple as he reportedly was driving without lights.

OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University will be the Beehive State's lone representative in this year's NCAA baseball tournament as the Wolverines earned their second-ever invite to play for a chance to compete in the College World Series. The Wolverines will begin the journey this weekend in the Eugene Regional at the University of Oregon where they'll face the Ducks in the opening game at 7 p.m. MDT on Friday.

SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah man who denied killing his girlfriend before being caught on a jail phone call admitting he had shot her was sentenced Friday to life in prison with no chance of parole. Terence Trent Vos was convicted Thursday of one count of first-degree felony murder in the 2021 death of Shandon Scott.
