LEHIGH CO., Pa. - Former Lehigh County Judge Maxwell E. Davison died Wednesday at age 91, according to an obituary from the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home. Davison began practicing law in 1957. In 1971, Gov. Milton Shapp appointed him to the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas. He won a 10-year election to the court in 1973, and in 1983, he won a retention election. In 1990, he left the bench to join the Duane Morris LLP law firm.

Envestnet, a financial-technology company based in Chester County, will be acquired by Bain Capital for $4.5 billion. Envestnet provides software and tools for financial professionals to manage money. Several other investors are in on the deal with Bain, including Reverence Capital, BlackRock, Fidelity Investments, Franklin Templeton and State Street Global Advisors. Each will hold a minority stake in the company once the deal is completed. The per-share purchase price is $63.15.

WILKES-BARRE TWP., Pa. - Trulieve Cannabis is opening a medical-marijuana dispensary in Luzerne County. The store at 1000 Wilkes Barre Township Boulevard will hold a grand opening Friday, July 12, offering discounts and more. Trulieve operates dispensaries across Pennsylvania, with one in Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, and two in Reading, Berks County. The Wilkes Barre Township location will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

L. MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. -- Volvo Mack Trucks has received $208 million in federal money from the Biden Administration to support the manufacturing of zero-emission vehicles at the company. The announcement was made Thursday morning and comes from the U.S. Dept. of Energy. Mack Trucks owns Lehigh Valley operations in Lower Macungie. Volvo Mack has a five-year plan to move toward clean-energy vehicles, according to a statement from U.S. Sen. Bob Casey.

Volvo Mack has a five-year plan to move toward clean-energy vehicles, according to a statement from U.S. Sen. Bob Casey. The money from the Inflation Reduction Act will create 295 new union jobs, Casey, a Democrat, said.
