On today's Daily Detroit, we're thinking about green spaces and trails. J.J. Tighe, who is in charge of parks and trails at the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, talks about what they're doing. It's not just about building; it's about connecting people and making it easier to get around. The trails are meant to help people get to different places and also boost the economy in the areas around them. We talk about some important projects, like the Downriver Link Greenway.

Belle Isle State Park is one of my favorite places, and judging from so many listener comments over the years, one of yours, too. So when I had the opportunity to talk to Dr. Meagan Elliot, the head of the non-profit Belle Isle Conservancy that helps support the island, I knew I had to take it. I have a long history with the island, going all the way back to when I was a kid riding the 25 Jefferson bus to the Belle Isle line to sail model boats with my parents in the 80s.

Check out the Spritz Bar, serving Aperol for the season in Detroit. I had a chance to check out Spritz Bar at San Morello. It's open in the evenings Thursdays through Sundays through Negroni Week (think end of September) on the ground floor of the Shinola Hotel. 0:00 /0:22 The patio is on Woodward and the cityscape views are great. On a nice day, the vibes, as some might say, are immaculate. If you’ve never had an Aperol Spritz, I suggest you try it.
