Testimony has started in the first-degree murder trial of a Marseilles man accused of brutally killing his dad on Father’s Day weekend. During opening statements, prosecutor Jeremiah Adams claimed 22-year-old Logan Petre beat and strangled his father Leo to death in their Marseilles home the night of June 14, 2024. After first denying to police that he killed his father, Adams claims Logan Petre took ownership of the killing, saying he wished his father had died more slowly.
