Montgomery Police make arrest in weekend homicide

Posted: Updated: Montgomery Police have charged 25 year old Deiontae Westerly of Montgomery with murder in a February 9th death. Montgomery police say on Sunday February 9th , 2025 just after 9a.m. police were called to the 1600 block of South Holt Street in reference to a deceased person. 59 year old Charles Harris was pronounced dead on the scene. MPD did not release a cause of death. 25 year old Deiontae Westerly of Montgomery was identified as the suspect.

Florida murder suspect arrested in Autauga County

Posted: Updated: On July 24, 2024, the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office in Florida regarding a suspect with a Felony Grand Theft warrant, who is also a suspect in a murder in their jurisdiction was at 2371 Hwy 14 W. The location was identified as Daisy’s restaurant in Autaugaville, Alabama.

Posted: On September 18, 2016, Montgomery police were called around 8:00 p.m. to 37 Judge Price Street on a person shot. Once they arrived, they found 34-year-old Chauncey Robinson with a fatal gunshot wound. Robinson later died from his injuries. As of today, the case remains unsolved. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Cold Case Task Force has taken over the investigation. A $5,000 reward is being offered any information that leads to an arrest.

Posted: Montgomery Police have released the identity of the victim after a mans body was found Monday afternoon. On Monday, June 24, 2024 at about 12:50p.m. first responders were called to the 2100 block of Plum Street in reference to a body found. 42 year old Ashley Fulghum, of Montgomery, was pronounced dead on the scene. MPD has charged 65 year old Kevin Chase, of Montgomery, with murder.

Posted: The Montgomery Police Department has charged Denzel Donald-White, 21, of Montgomery, Alabama, with two counts of Capital Murder and one count of Attempted Murder. He was identified as the 2nd suspect in the May 26th shooting death of Shayla Jones, 40, of Montgomery. White was taken into custody on June 14, 2024, by MPD and the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond.

According to Major Saba Coleman, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at about 11:30 p.m., MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 1000 block of Ann Street in reference to subjects shot. An adult male victim was located who sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 85 near the 35 mile marker in Macon County are currently blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time.
