NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that a small plane crashed Saturday (May 3) north of Kentwood. The sheriff’s office said there were two passengers aboard, a man and a woman. The man was sent to a local hospital for moderate to severe injuries, and the woman had minor injuries. TANGIPAHOA, La. (WVUE) - A suspect accused of fatally shooting a man at his Kentwood area home last month is now behind bars, according to the Tangipahoa sheriff. The sheriff said Willie Elzy Wells Jr. was booked into the Tangipahoa jail Saturday (May 3) afternoon after a K-9 tracked him down at a residence in the Village of Tangipahoa. The sheriff also said Wells was the subject of a manhunt near the Tangipahoa River in the Kentwood area on April 17.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE)—After playing college football for seven years at three different schools, Tyler Shough (pronounced as “SHUCK”) was probably the most experienced quarterback available in this year’s NFL draft. But he was also the oldest available, at 25 years of age. According to Fox Sports, Shough is the oldest quarterback drafted since 2012, when the Cleveland Browns drafted 28-year-old Brandon Weeden out of Oklahoma State in the first round.
