Marie Ramos and Stefani Mistry love cake. They love baking it, sharing it. So it was a huge disappointment for them and hoards of other San Franciscans to be shut out of Saturday’s massive Cake Picnic event at the Legion of Honor. The sugary shindig — where baking enthusiasts gather outside to feast on beautiful cakes — has become a bit of a cultural phenomenon. When tickets went live last month for the third local iteration of Cake Picnic, they sold out in one minute.
