    COACHELLA, Calif. (KESQ) - A plane carrying a banner made an emergency landing in an open field in the city of Coachella Friday evening. The emergency landing happened just after 5:30 p.m. in the area of Calhoun Street and Avenue 49CAL FIRE confirmed it was a clean landing, there were no injuries reported. A banner is stuck in a power line, causing a hazard. Both sides of Calhoun Street are currently closed. Stay with News Channel 3 for any updates.

    By Jesus Reyes SNOW CREEK, Calif. (KESQ) - A hiker was airlifted from a trail in the unincorporated area of Snow Creek Friday afternoon. The hiker sustained a medical emergency on the trail., which is located west of Palm Springs. "The patient has been hoisted via helicopter to an awaiting ground ambulance for transport to a local area hospital," reads a post by CAL FIRE. CAL FIRE noted that the hiker suffered minor injuries.

    PALM DESERT, Calif. (KESQ) - Riverside County Sheriff's deputies are seeking the public's help after several vehicles were broken into and burglarized throughout Palm Desert Thursday morning.     PALM DESERT, Calif. (KESQ) - A Palm Desert man was arrested and charged with possessing child pornography after separate incidents in the bathroom of a local restaurant, authorities announced. Joseph Seiders, 44, of Palm Desert, was arrested on April 9 at the Chick-fil-A on Dinah Shore Drive in Palm Desert, according to county jail records. Sieders' arrest came after two separate incidents were reported at the bathroom of the restaurant, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

    INDIO, Calif. (KESQ) - Arrests during weekend 1 of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival were up from last year, Indio police announced. According to police, there were 95 total arrests over the weekend, which is an increase of 17% from last year's numbers during the same weekend. Last year, there were 81 arrests. While arrests were up from last year, they were still below 2023's weekend one total of 102. Additionally, there were 82 handicap parking citations - up 75% from 47 citations in 2024.
