    Los Feliz -- A home reportedly owned by actor Brad Pitt, who is currently on the road promoting his latest film, was broken into Wednesday night, according to media reports. Without identifying Pitt as the homeowner, the Los Angeles Police Department said officers responded around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a burglary at a home on Edgemont Street, north of Los Feliz Boulevard.

    Echo Park --  Firefighters knocked down a garage fire tonight that had spread into a one-story home, according to the L.A. Fire Department. The occupants of the home in the 1500 block of Mohawk Street were able to get out after the blaze began at about 9 pm. Crews attacked flames in the garage while also battling fire in the attic of the home and working to salvage belongings inside The blaze was extinguished in 29 minutes with 32 firefighters on scene, said an LAFD Alert.

    Highland Park -- The iconic Sparkletts sign that loomed over the company's nearly century-old water bottling plant came down today. The removal of the rooftop sign comes about a month after The Eastsider reported that the Sparkletts plant would be closing, ending the company's nearly century-long presence in Northeast L.A., where it was founded in the 1920s to bottle well water.
