A young couple were shocked to discover the property they hoped to make their new family home was covered in mould. Michael Bullock said he was stunned that Falkirk Council expected him to move his two young children into the flat in Camelon. He was viewing the property in Glasgow Road with fiancée Chloe McFarlane when he spotted the damp patches and mould.

An MSP has claims Falkirk Council needs to do more to tackle the issue of tenants living in damp houses. Central Scotland Tory MSP Meghan Gallacher says it is “alarming” there have been over 1700 complaints about damp and mould have been made to the council since 2022. She has now raised serious concerns about the conditions of council homes in Falkirk after a sharp rise in complaints from tenants.

Around 600 low-paid NHS staff at Forth Valley Royal Hospital fear falling into debt if a move to monthly pay is implemented. Cleaners, porters, catering staff and others who are employed by Serco at NHS Forth Valley have told union officials that they could be forced to take out loans to make ends meet if the private contractor switches from weekly to monthly pay.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after an incident on a train travelling between Glasgow and Edinburgh. They want to hear from anyone who witnessed a couple performing an indecent act on the 7pm Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley Scotrail service on Saturday, June 8. British Transport Police say shortly after the train left Glasgow the female was observed performing a sex act on the man until the couple were interrupted by the guard doing his checks.
