ELKHORN, Neb. (KMTV) — A new chapter begins for St. Pat's Church. After two years of construction, this new campus off 189th and West Maple is now complete—and it's an important step for this growing community. Video shows neighbors gathering outside of St. Pat's new campus before the start of the first mass. Father Tom Fangman shares what Archbishop Lucas told him when he first came to St. Pat's as a priest. The new church will be able to accommodate up to 1,300 worshipers.

ELMWOOD, Neb. (KMTV) — From homemade pies to fresh, hot pizza and music, the Pie Ride is an event that not only brings people together from the MoPac trail but also raises money for different organizations in the community. The Bess Streeter Aldrich Foundation raises money for their preservation efforts through the pie ride. While the MoPac trail has proven to be successful with this event, neighbors in another part of Cass County are struggling to see an extension of the MoPac as a plus.

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Nebraska Adaptive Sports and CHI Health Immanuel have partnered with Omaha Parks and Rec to start a new free program where anyone of any skill level can come and learn how to play. Video shows participants playing a scrimmage and practicing their skills at wheelchair basketball. Scott Zessin has been playing the sport since he was a kid. He says while you can gain strength and endurance from playing, the greatest skills he's learned mean much more.

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Salvation Army’s new summer program, Family Meals of Hope, starts this week. Two food trucks will bring 100 free meals to four Omaha parks at dinner time every weekday starting at 6:00 p.m.Food insecurity impacts one in seven Nebraskans, which is why the Salvation Army decided to change the program to meet the needs of entire families. While the focus is on helping struggling families, anyone is welcome to come and get a dinner. "No documents are necessary.

Omaha Public Library's (OPL) summer reading program is on, and to celebrate what reading can do for so many kids, they're having a party. From now until July 31st, kids in the free summer reading program can keep track of their goals and earn prizes just for reading.
