    As the City of Dallas Planning & Development department prepares to transition to DallasNow, the office hours at Oak Cliff Municipal Center have been extended for two weeks, beginning April 14. Online services and in-person services, including all permitting, engineering review processes, payment collection and certain online scheduling will be unavailable from Friday, April 25 at 4 p.m. to Sunday, May 4, 2025, in addition to many limited operations.

    By Jillian Nachtigal|April 16th, 2025| Two people were killed in a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Oak Cliff. Officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 500 block of Bizerte Avenue at about 4:10 p.m., according to a statement from Dallas police. When officers arrived, they found two people who had been shot. Police said both victims died at the scene.

    Interim Dallas police Chief Michael Igo announced his retirement Wednesday during a speech at City Hall,  just days after a new police chief was selected. Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert ultimately decided to name Daniel Comeaux, the Special Agent in Charge of the DEA’s Houston Field Division, the city’s next police chief. Igo, 58, has led the Dallas Police Department in the six months since former Chief Eddie García left the job for Austin city management.
