    The cannabis industry has become the latest arena for Vermont NIMBYism. In Rutland, a pair of recent cannabis-related businesses have proven controversial with some residents. First, neighbors of a proposed commercial cannabis growing operation on East Washington Street recently presented the Board of Aldermen with a petition opposing a home occupation permit for the business, which would exist in an outbuilding on the homeowner’s property. The petition, signed by 57 residents of the neighborhood.
