SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A ransomware attack on the Arizona Federal Public Defender’s Office has delayed progress in the Ralph Menzies death penalty case. Defense attorneys filed a motion last week asking the court for more time to prepare a reply brief on Menzies’ mental competency after the hack wiped out their access to case files. The office said they lost a nearly complete 25-page draft of the reply brief they were preparing to file.

McKenzie Keller, the woman he trafficked, told the court she never thought this day would come.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Bruce Dallas Goodman spent nearly 19 years in prison for the rape and murder of 21-year-old Sherry Ann Fales Williams, a crime he maintained he did not commit. Decades later, newly tested DNA evidence led to his conviction being overturned, but not everyone was convinced of his innocence. On November 30, 1984, a road crew found Williams' body partially nude and her hands and feet bound by rope in Beaver, Utah.

FACTUALLY INNOCENT, REASONABLY DOUBTED Bruce Goodman was convicted for murder and spent nearly 19 years in prison before newly tested DNA overturned his conviction. But not everyone is convinced he’s innocent. Full story 👇🏻 https://t.co/1TGsnQA4XD https://t.co/FQyYP7bPQC

He was convicted of murder, spent 18+ years in prison before newly tested DNA set him free. Utah had no law to compensate the wrongfully convicted so he ended up homeless and b/c of missing evidence not all were convinced he was innocent. https://t.co/Oxd5oKkXIS
