    Local radio program “GenX&Z” aired its 50th program last month. The mother-and-son team of Lynn O’Brien and her 22-year-old son, Nate, have been recording and airing their hour-long show through Sandwich Community Radio since March 2024. A graduate of the Riverview School in Sandwich, Nate also attended the Level Up program at Bourne High School, where his voice got him noticed. “Nate has a really good speaking voice,” said Ms. O’Brien.

    The Barnstable Comedy Club is staging a fine production of Neil Simon’s “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” through May 18. Set in the early 1950s, the play is semi-autobiographical in that Mr. Simon likened the character of Lucas Brickman after himself and his own experiences as a young writer working for Sid Caesar’s “Your Show Of Shows.” The character of Max Prince is modeled on Sid Caesar.

    Falmouth artist Ginnie Peterson has two shows on view at Highfield Hall & Gardens. While both shows feature flowers, the feelings they inspire are related, but contrasting. “Deconstructed Botanicals” consists of colorful oversized sculptures featuring flowers, leaves, vines, fabric, plaster, resin and more. With neon lights behind them, some of the sculptures seem to pulse like beating hearts, rushing waters or flower bouquets that have exploded into colorful bits and pieces.
