After hiding Joe Biden’s diminishing mental state for years, duplicitous Democrats have launched a smear campaign against one of their own – attacking moderate Sen. John Fetterman’s mental fitness because he has dared to challenge the party. Liberal New York magazine published what Fetterman — who has been open about his depression –calls a “hit piece” interviewing former staffers who accuse him of becoming “erratic” and “almost impossible to work for” and walking into traffic one day.

Tania Fernandes Anderson’s guilty plea to fraud and theft in a bathroom kickback scheme should send her to prison and the unemployment line – instead she continues to pocket her $120,000 taxpayer funded salary by desperately clinging to her city council seat. Anderson pleaded guilty Monday to stealing $7,000 in public money and she has promised to resign. We’re still waiting. She told reporters outside the courthouse she’s going to hang on until late June after the city budget is voted on.

Whatever happened to police accountability and transparency in the Wu administration? Arbitrarily withholding names from the public in high profile incidents. Delaying release of accident reports. Repeatedly dragging its feet on public records. That doesn’t sound like accountability, it sounds like secrecy worse than the previous mayoral administration. Mayor Michelle Wu talks a big game when it comes to accountability, but the Boston Police Department’s actions don’t match the rhetoric.

With the arrest of a Wisconsin judge for letting a domestic violence suspect flee ICE, all judges and judicial nominees in Massachusetts should be asked whether they would also shield illegal immigrants charged with a crime from authorities. The Governor’s Council and Gov. Maura Healey should make it a litmus test for all future judges: Would you violate the law to protect a criminal suspect here illegally?
