SAN ANTONIO - This week will end with mild conditions across South Texas as afternoon highs Friday climb into the upper 60s to lower 70s. However, a big change is on the way this weekend as an arctic blast moves into the country and a strong cold front reaches our area by Saturday evening. Saturday will remain pleasant during the day with highs in the 60s, but temperatures will fall quickly Saturday night and much of the area is set to see a freeze by Sunday morning.

SAN ANTONIO - The coldest air of the season is expected to settle into South Texas early next week. After a few mild days, a strong arctic front will move through the region Saturday. This airmass will result in temperatures running well below seasonal average across Texas, and much of the United States. We are anticipating highs by Monday to stay in the 30s with overnight lows in the 20s.

SAN ANTONIO - After weeks of unusually quiet conditions in the tropics, the Gulf of Mexico is trying to awaken as we near the historical peak of hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin. A disturbed area of weather in the Bay of Campeche is now being investigated by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and has an 80% chance of tropical development in the days ahead. As it is being investigated, it has a temporary name of 'Invest 91-L'.

Took my very first trip in Sky4 this afternoon over Canyon Lake to check in on record low water levels. #txwx @News4SA https://t.co/8IAnyM0O71

Canyon Lake is now at 47% full, and continues to drop. Each day is a new record low. We will be flying over Canyon Lake this evening to check the very latest. Business owners in the area stress there is plenty to do outside of the lake such as hiking and biking trails. @News4SA https://t.co/CE4o6PYAdu
