OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Amanda Gershon has been on SNAP, commonly known as food stamps, for 12 years. Gershon said she gets about $200 a month for it. She said she's scared about the potential. "It is a big part of me being able to buy the food especially on my doctor-ordered diets," she said. The cuts are proposed in the Trump administration’s "Big Beautiful Bill". The Senate is now taking a look at possible revisions.

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Leaders from Clarkson College officially broke ground Monday. The updates will include a new 3-D printing and training center. Students will be able to print out FDA-cleared medical devices that can be used during surgeries and for treatments. It will also include a physical therapy lab and new welcome center. OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Public Schools’s Next Level Learning started this week. The summer is program is designed with educational activities to enrich learning. This year, approximately 17,000 students are enrolled. It’s the highest yet for this program. Destin Blackshear is about to enter the second grade. He said he loves learning about reading and math. It's his first time attending Omaha Public Schools Next Level Learning.

After months of waiting, we have learned that the district plans to present its long-awaited investigation next month. Joseph Wachter said Sept. 10 is a day he never wants to relive. OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Homeowners are opening their mailboxes to find new property tax statements and many are once again upset with what they're seeing. In fact, one person said his valuation jumped by more than $100,000. Terry Thielen has lived in his Douglas County home for eight years. The retiree said he's made no improvements to his home in the past year. This comes as it has been a struggle so far for lawmakers to pass meaningful property tax relief.
