Elite young competitor Dorian Olivarez has just been promoted to black belt in BJJ by John Danaher. It’s a huge achievement for someone so young, as Olivarez has reached the rank at just 18 years old. It’s not as if he isn’t used to achieving things that would be beyond most teenagers’ reach though, as he’s been competing and winning at the highest level of multiple sports for quite some time.

Back in 2017, veteran BJJ black belt Ryron Gracie decided to take on a pretty unique challenge by grappling 3 opponents at the same time. It’s something that many critics of Jiu-Jitsu would say is impossible, given that the sport is generally considered to be useful against single opponents. Obviously Ryron is a member of the Gracie family though and if anyone was going to be capable of keeping up with multiple opponents at once, it would be someone like them.

17 year-old prodigy Helena Crevar has just reached the next stage of her journey through the BJJ ranks, as she has just been promoted to purple belt by John Danaher. Crevar is coming off the biggest achievement of her competitive career last month, as she was able to come away with a silver medal from the under 65kg division at ADCC 2024.
