A traffic crash has claimed the life of an Evansville man. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office says 51-year-old Roosevelt McNeil died after the crash at Weinbach and Keck avenues Tuesday evening. McNeil was taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. There’s no word of any charges in the crash. Evansville Police continue to investigate. The wreck slowed traffic on N. Weinbach during the evening rush hour.

Authorities have arrested the truck driver involved in this week’s fatal crash on St. Joe Avenue. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 24-year-old Malik Stafford of Louisville on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death -- a Level 4 Felony. Stafford also faces a misdemeanor charge. The sheriff’s office says tests confirmed the presence of cannibas in Stafford’s bloodstream.

Police have arrested an Evansville man accused of dealing meth. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:Police say the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation into a large amount of methamphetamine being delivered to a local address. Authorities say detectives began watching the home and saw 27-year-old Davont Terry in the area multiple times before approaching the address and picking up a package. Police then conducted a traffic stop and took Terry into custody.

A mother is dead and her child is injured after a head-on crash in Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:It happened just before 3:30 Monday afternoon on St. Joe Avenue, just north of Wimberg Road. The first deputies on the scene found an SUV with front-end damage and a box truck overturned. The sheriff’s office says a preliminary investigation determined the box truck was traveling northbound on St. Joe when it left the right side of the roadway.

Two Evansville Police supervisors face charges of Racketeering, Official Misconduct, and Fraud. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:The supervisors are a married couple, Lieutenant Stacy Shirley and Sergeant Bill Shirley. EPD Sgt. Sgt. Anthony Aussieker says an investigation began in May after concerns were raised regarding the Shirley’s off-duty employment with the Evansville Housing Authority. Aussiecker say the probe determined that the couple reported hours worked that they had not worked.
