    GIBSON CO., Ind. (WFIE) - Later this month, drivers might notice some construction while driving on I-69 in Gibson and Pike County. Starting on or around Tuesday, April 29, INDOT officials say alternating lane closures will begin at the 27 and 40-mile marker. Work will happen on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Officials say the closures will allow for linear grading for the inside and outside shoulders heading both directions. INDOT says work is expected to take a month to finish.

    UNION CO., Ky. (WFIE) - First responders spent several hours recovering a box truck from flooded waters after the driver ignored two barricades and a ‘Water Over Road’ sign. That’s according to Crittenden Co. EMA officials, who say it happened on the border of Union County late Thursday night. Around 11 p.m., first responders were called to KY-365 for that incident. Before first responders could arrive, the driver had reached dry ground and was safe.

    EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - If you’re driving on the Lloyd Expressway, you may notice evidence of a new Tex-Mex chain restaurant coming to town. Signage for Chuy’s was put up Thursday and is displayed at the old O’Charley’s location on E. Indiana Street. They offer a full Tex-Mex menu, including several types of salsa and creamy jalapeño dip. Chuy’s has several restaurants near the Tri-State, including Bowling Green, Nashville, Indianapolis and Louisville.

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - Ellis Park Racing & Gaming in Henderson is going to be back open to the public. A spokesperson announced that they will reopen at 3 p.m. today. The park was closed after severe weather brought along flooding in Henderson. “The team and management extend their sincere thanks to the community for their patience and continued support throughout the closure,” says the spokesperson. Ellis Park says they’ll share updates on their website and social media accounts.
