EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - It’s National Nurses Week, and 14 News is highlighting a special nursing program that many might not know about. SANE nurses are trained to examine victims of sexual assault. These nurses will collect evidence and offer support if victims wish to report the assault to police. SANE nurses also act as advocates and provide resources to keep sexual assault survivors healthy. They specialize in “trauma informed care,” so they know exactly how to interact with a person in crisis.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Many people took to the Henderson riverfront to watch the solar eclipse on Monday. Cheers of amazement filled the Henderson riverfront as residents and visitors gathered to witness the total solar eclipse. “Just to see that through those glasses, it’s amazing,” said one person coming to view the eclipse. Some visitors say they traveled over 900 miles for this once in a lifetime kind of day. A few residents say Monday will go down in history as a perfect day in Henderson.
