They established the Kentucky Strong initiative several years ago, making T-Shirts to donate to charitable causes. When deadly tornados hit Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties in 2021, they raised over 400-thousand dollars for relief in just one week. Now, they’re stepping up where they can for London and Somerset, Kentucky.

MORGANFIELD, Ky. (WFIE) - Union County leaders say they’re in need of disaster volunteers following last week’s EF3 tornado. Emergency Management officials have now created an online sign-up form for volunteers to pick a time and a specific job. Volunteers are needed at the donation center on Highway 60 to help with check-in, organizing and distributing, unloading from the donation trucks, and more. Leaders say they are no longer in need of donated items, just helping hands.

MORGANFIELD, Ky. (WFIE) - Recovery is underway now after that EF3 tornado tore through the Morganfield area Friday night. A lot of viewers shared video of that storm caught on camera, complete with some scary sights. 14 News’ Jamee French has been in Union County all day speaking with those impacted. Monday, Union County Emergency Management crews completed their individual assessment of the damaged areas, trying to get an idea of just how powerful this storm was. They assessed 47 homes.
