ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown man charged with homicide in the 2023 shooting death of a woman in the city pleaded guilty Thursday to a lesser charge. Obadiah Whack, 31, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and possession of a prohibited firearm, in the Sept. 29, 2023, death of Giselle Trabal, 35, at 628 N. Law St.Trabal was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and later succumbed to her injuries. County Judge James T. Anthony sentenced Whack to 30-60 years in state prison.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Call them home state heroes. Archer Music Hall, the new downtown concert venue, has announced a concert series that will showcase Pennsylvania acts. The series, called Pennsylvania’s Own, will start May 9 with Motionless in White, the Scranton metalcore band that has had three of its albums hit No. 1 on Hard Rock chart and two gold-selling singles.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A British rock band with the throwback glam-rock style that has produced the alt-rock hits will play a paid-ticket show at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks. The Struts, whose style recalls bands such as The Rolling Stones and Queen and who has had the hits “Could Have Been Me” and “Kiss This,” will perform at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 20.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A boogie-rocking band that headlined Bethlehem’s Musikfest last year will return to Bethlehem to play a much smaller stage. Z.Z. Top, which had the hits “Tush” in the 1970s and “Legs” and “Sharp Dressed Man” in the 1980s, will perform at Wind Creek Event Center at 8 p.m. Sept. 21, it was announced Tuesday.
