I've found many places in Erie where I can go to relax, meditate, and find some inner peace. I should visit those places more often. There's one location that was not on my list. I thought it was a place for silliness, not for silence and serenity. I’m visiting the labyrinth at Frontier Park in Erie. I've visited here many times with my grandsons. They like to race with me through the circles and curves. There's always a lot of laughs as I try to catch them. We have fun.

As a father and a grandfather, I've read a lot of children's books. I’ve read books such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Bear Who Didn't Like Honey. Today, I want to tell a true story that should be turned into a children's book. Let's call it The Little Tree That Couldn't Find a Home. Story time on The Last Word takes us to Penn State Behrend. Let’s begin. There is a nice white flowering dogwood tree gracing the area beside the historic Glenhill Farmhouse at Penn State Behrend.

As if finding an apartment in Italy wasn’t hard enough, now you’re looking to move – and breaking a lease comes with all sorts of new complications which you might not be prepared for. But don’t stress: once you know what to expect, you’ll find that it’s not too different from what you might be used to at home.

My mind was racing today. I just received a wedding announcement from a former co-worker. I began thinking about weddings. I then started to think about wedding rings. My thoughts switched to jewelry stores and then to the nice memories made inside jewelry stores. Those thoughts bring me to Les Crago Jewelers in the Colony Plaza in Millcreek. The store is closing on June 21 after 75 years in business. I want to talk about jewelry store memories with owners Stephen and Robyn Crago.

I don't believe anyone has ever described me as funky. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Funky could be something that smells bad. Funky could also be something or someone that is stylish and hip. I've arrived at a place that might help me find my funk, whatever that might be. I'm at Funk N Junk Thrift Store in Girard. Gretchen Cash is the owner. She sells clothing that would make anyone look funky. She also sells items that many people may call junk.
