BILLINGS — Organizers believe this year’s Midland Roundtable Montana All-Star Volleyball Classic is going to be the best yet. Now in its fourth year, the match will be played on a Friday as a standalone event for the first time. Previously the all-star volleyball match was played on a Saturday before the Montana-Wyoming All-Star boys and girls basketball games. This year’s all-star volleyball match, sponsored by Scheels, is Friday, June 13, at 6 p.m. at Lockwood High School.

BILLINGS — For siblings AJ Swenson and Aspen Swenson of Huntley, the will be extra special. Both are in second place in the all-around race and have a chance to walk out of the Majestic Valley Arena as all-around champions. Aspen, who is 16 and will be a junior in high school during the 2025-26 school year, has a chance for a repeat all-around title as she won the championship last year as a freshman.

BILLINGS — Gillette, Wyoming, native and 2025 Rocky Mountain College graduate Tanner Lemm spent the past year with the Laurel Locomotives boys basketball team as their C Squad coach, working with freshmen and sophomores. “It was a great experience. I had a great time,” Lemm told The Billings Gazette and 406 MT Sports about coaching the Locomotives C squad in a Friday interview.

BILLINGS — Five champions are back to defend their titles at the Montana High School Rodeo Association Finals at the Majestic Valley Arena in Kalispell June 2-7. Huntley’s Aspen Swenson, who in her first season competing in the MHSRA won the all-around cowgirl race last year, is second in this season’s standings in the girls-all around with 557.5 points, trailing only Linden Schenk of Joliet, who has 585 points.

BILLINGS — There will be Golden Bears, Falcons and Broncs among the Montana High School Association teams playing girls flag football next fall. On Tuesday, Billings Public Schools Executive Director of Athletics & Activities Mark Sulser announced in an email that Nycole LaRowe would be coaching at Senior, Adam Greenwell would be guiding Skyview and Steve Nieto leading West.
